Metaphysical Kindness (2022) is a group of poetry installations, laser projections, and video installations. They form a system that employs a gentle and humorous language to concentrate on two inter-metaphorical areas of concerns: how to fall in love with the natural environment and how to maintain eco-friendly romantic relationships. Meanwhile, these works reflect thoughts on two concepts I recently proposed – “metaphysical kindness” and “Taoist punk.” The former refers to a general goodwill that is not driven by goals nor values and is rooted within an awareness of our limited knowledge of the world. The latter is a blackhole term described from six related fields: nature, wilderness; metaphysics; non-rationality, chance; ephemerality, immateriality; curiosity, humor, play; aloneness, anarchism. Through metaphysical kindness, humanity and other living and non-living beings coexist in the cosmology of Taoist punk.
